New Arrivals – TI 990/4 and some Prime remnants
When I went to pick up a PDP-8 this week I also discovered in a fairly dismantled state a TI 990/4 mini computer and the rack, PSUs and disk of a Prime (model not known).
The TI 990/4 is in fairly good condition (despite having been rained on for the last week) although it is missing its CPU card and memory. If anyone has one going spare please contact! For now I will clean this machine up, recomission its PSUs and start the long hunt for the missing cards.
The Prime rack and 80MB drive are in fairly poor condition having been exposed to damp for a long time. The cases have a fair amount of surface rust although it should be possible to clean these up and respray them to bring them back to presentable condition.
The drive looks like it is fairly complete although its possibly missing a circuit breaker from the rear. Inside it looks clean and the heads appear undamaged.
If anyone can help identify the model of this Prime it would be much appreciated. As so little of the orignal machine exists, I will restore the rack as far as I can and then probable use it to house my Interdata and the TI 990 until more suitable homes can be found for them.
